Built in 1933, Clifford Pier was the landing point for sea passengers, including immigrants.It later became the gateway to Singapore’s nearby islands such as the Southern Islands and Kusu Island.

Since its construction, Clifford Pier has been an integral part of Singapore’s landscape and we want to know what it means to you.  Whether it was taking a leisurely stroll with your loved ones, taking a ferry to nearby islands or even stories you’ve heard from your parents or grandparents, we want to hear from you!

Submit your stories or photographs to or via the SG Memory iOS app by 5 May 2013 and stand a chance to win* a weekend stay at the award-winning Fullerton Bay Hotel or other attractive dining prizes. This competition marks Clifford Pier’s 80th anniversary and the top 10 entries will be showcased in a public exhibition at Clifford Pier from 3 June to 31 August 2013.

Terms and Conditions

  1. This contest is only open to Singapore citizens and permanent residents aged 18 and above.
  2. Submission of stories and pictures pertaining to Clifford Pier must be made by 5 May 2013 via the Singapore Memory website or SG Memory iOS App. Entries received after the deadline will not be accepted.
  3. Multiple submissions (of different content) are allowed.
  4. All submissions must be tagged with ‘#irememberCliffordPier’.
  5. A panel of judges will select the top 10 entries that best suit the theme. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
  6. Winners and shortlisted entrants must provide full-resolution, unedited photos for verification.
  7. SMP and The Fullerton Heritage have the right to use the submitted content for their promotional and/or marketing efforts.
  8. All images submitted must be owned or licensed to the individual. Images with trademarks, graphic symbols, logos or other intellectual property will not be eligible to be entered into the contest.
  9. SMP and The Fullerton Heritage have the right to reject or deny any entry if deemed unsuitable.
  10. SMP and The Fullerton Heritage reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions and/or cancel the contest without prior notice to any person.
  11. By submitting your entry, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions.

The exhibition chronicles the different roles the pier played in the socio-political landscape of Singapore from 1933-2006, as well as features the winning entries from the irememberCliffordPier contest.
