The Little Red Brick

The humble LEGO brick is a simple yet infinitely versatile art medium that can be used to build intricate structures, tell colourful stories and connect communities. Watch top builders from the local Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOL) commemorate 50 uniquely Singapore memories through their creations at the SG50 edition of The Little Red Brick Show. Maybe, you will be inspired to build a story of your own too at one of their workshops.

3D Printing Singapura Stories

Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the Singaporean narrative in 3D Printing Singapura Stories, a series of location-based 3D-printed interactive installations by Lee Xiaohui and Freda Chua of TINKR using miniatures to re-enact Singapore’s most inspiring moments over the past 50 years. These installations, situated at different locations in Singapore, will be merged into a larger exhibit at the end of 2015, showcasing the most important milestones in Singapore’s history since independence.

The Singapore March

While in its nascent stage, Singapore’s visual identity is extremely diverse and complex. The Singapore March is Singapore’s first travelling art exhibition, featuring all the varied and peculiar character stereotypes that define our country. Dan Wong and Izyanti Asa’ari head a team of budding local illustrators to give physical forms to these unique personas, which will travel around the island from August 2015.

Hand Drawn Nation

Trace the background of pioneering illustrators who penned the drawings behind memorable publications and campaigns from the 80s and 90s. Hand Drawn Nation documents the indelible mark these illustrators’ breakout publications (Vinny the Vampire, PETS coursebooks and Young Generation magazines) left on Singapore then and today, marking the progress of our nation’s illustration scene.
